Compared to compact components, oversized parts are designed to withstand more force. So heat treatments for these parts require a deeper carburizing depth. In order to minimize the distorsion as well as due to the oversized part size, the process is usually done in pit type. In addition, since the part itself grows larger, additional time outside of treatment time will be required for raising or lowering the temperature and tempering.
KHT has the capacity to treat parts with outside diameters of up to 1500 mm ø and 4000 mm Long with special distorsion control.
